Have you ever wondered, "How to clean stinky insoles?" or "How to clean the insoles of shoes?" or “Can you wash shoe insoles?” Yes, most likely. After a while, the insoles of your shoes may become somewhat worn. The porous inserts absorb dirt, oil, and perspiration with each step, which can lead to bacteria and mold growth. It can be difficult to get rid of these germs and the scents they generate, but it is not impossible if you know what to do. Buff the insoles with soap and water to get rid of the light odor. More extensive solutions, such as baking soda or rubbing alcohol, may be required to save funkier foot liners.

You should expect your EASYFEET to last 6 to 12 months on average. This is determined by a variety of factors, including the wearer's weight, activity level, shoe choice, and frequency of use. Some sports, such as tennis or squash, are particularly taxing on orthotics, with athletes wearing out their shoes in months. Similarly, humid or moist conditions may cause the more fragile cushioning elements in orthotics to deteriorate prematurely.

Here's how to keep your arch support orthotics in good working order and how to clean shoe insoles in the right way

Using Rubbing Alcohol to Disinfect Insoles

  2. The inserts are need to be sprayed with the alcohol solution.
  3. Set your orthotics aside to dry.

Purification Insoles with Baking Soda

  1. In a big container, add the cooking soda. Into a quart-sized Ziploc bag or Tupperware container, sift a couple ounces of cooking soda.
  2. In the box, place the insoles. Soak the insoles until they are completely saturated in soda. It may be useful to turn them upside down so that the powder is constantly in contact with the entire upper surface. Cooking soda will function better if it covers a larger surface area.
  3. Allow your EASYFEET shoe inserts to soak for at least an hour. Place the box somewhere out of the way and seal it. By the time you wake up the next morning, the baking soda should have sealed in the harshest aromas.
  4. Orthotics should be replaced when they are removed. Take the baking soda out of the jar. Remove any remaining powder from the EASYFEET insoles and lay them aside for a few minutes before putting them back into your shoes. After that, you shouldn't be able to detect any unpleasant odors.

Scrubbing EASYFEET Inserts with Water and Soap

  1. The EASYFEET insoles should be removed from your shoes or boots.
  2. Combine soap and warm water in a large container. Squeeze couple of drops of a light liquid dish detergent into the sink or a separate pail that will blend well in water. Combine the water and soap to produce a solution.
  3. Dip a stiff-bristled buff into the soap solution. A nylon dish brush or similar utensil will suffice for this. A soft dish sponge or a plain cotton washcloth can also be used to scrub.
  4. Allow the insoles to dry naturally.

THINGS TO AVOID

However, there are a few typical mistakes to avoid while cleaning shoe inserts. To protect your insoles, extend their life, and keep your feet healthy, keep these guidelines in mind.

  • Never submerge your shoe inserts in water, since this can cause mold and mildew to grow.
  • Never wash, dry, or put your orthotics in the dishwasher. They will lose their shape and flatten down as a result of this.If your orthotics get wet, wait until they're completely dry before replacing them in your shoe. If you're still having issues, you should contact a qualified podiatrist who can assist you re-form your feet. This is the one and only correct answer on the most common questions: “How to wash shoe insoles in washing mashine?” or “Can you wash insoles in washing mashine?” or even “Can you wash shoe insoles in washer?”
  • Any chemical solvents must be avoided because they can speed the degeneration of your orthotics.
  • Your insoles may lose their shape if they are exposed to extremes of heat or cold.

Avoid wearing the same shoe or insoles on consecutive days if at all possible. This isn't a good idea because it leads to excessive sweating and wear and tear on the orthotic. Remove the insoles from the shoes and set them aside for at least 24 hours to remove extra sweat. In the meantime, put on a new pair of shoes and insoles, and the odor should be gone by the time you're ready to put them back on.

We recommend cleaning the insoles with a mild detergent.
The top layer with the logo is a fabric material laminated to the insole and it can rip or tear when washed or using harsh detergents.
